I’ve been an Adobe Lightroom user since 2007, when it first dropped. When it comes to post-processing, I use it almost exclusively, only rarely opening Photoshop. It has not only elevated my color grading game but it has also probably added a year to my life with the time it’s saved me. All that to say I was honored and flattered when they reached out to me to write some tutorials on how I use their software.
Back in May I was tapped to write 20 tutorials and 30 “discovery” files for their desktop and mobile apps. Since I still use Lightroom Classic I was unaware of the booming online community which is accessible through Lightroom. Check out my profile to see what I’m talking about. Any photo that has been uploaded to the site offers a step-by-step insight into the exact settings that were made to each image. You can even create a preset based on the settings. Super cool stuff! As a visual learner I really wish this had been around when I was first learning how to color grade.
