Elegance of Form
I kept it simple in this shoot with Angela. No fancy camera or lighting techniques. Just focusing on mood and form. I decided to use a fern and a piece of wood as props in a few shots. For the last setup we popped outside since it was unseasonable warm and sunny, and shot in a nearby wooded area.
When it came to color grading the files I knew that I wanted to use high-contrast to really make the shapes and textures pop. I liked the images in both color and in black and white, so I decided to do both and unify them with a matte finish. Note how I lowered the far right point (the white point), which created the matte appearance. Next I added a dramatic curve with the left four points which added the high-contrast look.
