This was a fun surprise. One of my portraits of Sydney Lafaire made the cover of the new Photo District News equipment guide. I’ve been reading this magazine since I started out as a professional photographer, so this is certainly an “achievement unlocked” kinda moment.

The image was taken at one of my workshops in Berlin, last January (see setup below). It was hosted in an Airbnb, which is where I prefer to host my workshops. It not only makes for a more intimate setting but it also gets students to think outside the box of the studio to realize that they can make innovative images in a variety of locations.
